i was thinking of my hatred towards winter when i was writing this tanka. I decribed how it makes me feel and what the cold weather makes me want to do (not much of anything). I also included not only what i dont like but something that i enjoy and look forward to, which are the blooming flowers. I only used one literary device in this poem which was consonance. I think what made me pick this topic was winter track. I was dreading having to go out and practice in the cold weather so it was on my mind and i guess that is what prompted me to write about how much i hate it.
